Domain Registration.
There are several places to register your domain, and simply thinking of a name is not enough as it must be registered as well (I also can do this for you). The Registrar is a large database of domain names. This is how a person or computer finds your specific place on the web. Every Domain has an IP address. Your name resolves to the IP address listed in the Registra’s database. If you have a web host, the resolved IP will be that of the host’s IP issued to your domain when you created your web host package. If you host your own, the IP will be that of the server you set up at your business or home to host your site. Every computer on the planet has an IP, that is the destination address of that particular computer or server on the web. The web is just a big network, but that is another topic. You can spend a lot or a little on your registration, there are several providers our there. Among the many are: www.nettechsolution.com, www.enom.com, www.register.com, www.godaddy.com, www.bluehost.com, and many others. You can spend as much as $39.95 per year or as little (that I have found) as $9.99 per year to register your domain (multiple year registration). I charge $17 per year). Once registered your IP will be that of the registrar until you change it. Some registrars are also web hosts, but you do not have to use their hosting services if you do not want to. It does make it more convenient as you can make changes to your web service and your registrar all at one location.
